The international fast food kebab chain German Doner Kebab was crowned “Best Emerging Franchise” of 2021 at this year’s Global Franchise Awards.
The winners were announced on Friday 30 April, recognising businesses from various sectors including property maintenance, law, children’s services and education among others.
The announcements marked a double triumph for the fast food industry, as the American pizza chain Little Caesars took home the “Best Food and Drink Franchise” prize, joining German Doner Kebab as a winner.
At present the Glasgow-based German Doner Kebab company has outlets on three continents with shops in the United Kingdom, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Canada and the United States.
German Doner Kebab’s expansion has been rapid. Since the chain first began trading in British markets in 2016, it has mushroomed across the country, growing to include around 40 branches in different cities from Cardiff, to London, to Birmingham, with plans to open 800 new UK stores in the next 10 years..
