A British Kebab Industry household name has called on customers to forgo delivery giants and order food directly from their favourite restaurants and takeaways.
The well-known Stoke Newington Kebab Restaurant Mangal 2 took to twitter to support BritShish’s #DropTheApp campaign against exorbitant commission fees, levied on restaurants by delivery services JustEat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo – some as high as 35%.
The restaurant tweeted: “Pretty much done with Deliveroo. Such a huge slice of that cake. Please order and collect where you can. Here’s a video about this and how it affects small business like ours.”
Famous for its popular twitter account, the video tweeted by the restaurant received 10,500 views in the first three days after it went out on 15 July.
